Irish man shares 'genius' hack to get the 'perfect draft' pint of Guinness straight from the can and people aren't happy

Finding the perfect pint of Guinness can be difficult. Add having to drink it from the can, and things can become even more challenging.

Guinness enthusiasts across the country will say there is nothing better than a draft pint of the black stuff, and drinking from the can is just not the same.

However, one Irish man may have found a way to get the perfect pint straight from the can without the need to buy an expensive surger.

Taking to TikTok, the man shared his method on how to achieve the perfect creamy pint using a can of Guinness.

Pressing a thumbtack into the top of the can, the man explained: "I'm currently bleeding the extra nitrogen out of a can of Guinness. So I'll show you why in just a second."

Removing the thumbtack, he said: "So now that it's been bled, there will be no whoosh of air as you open it. Whoosh of nitrogen, I should say. Totally flat, exactly what we want."

Pouring the contents of the can into a pint glass, the man said to leave about a centimetre and a half at the top.

He said: "Fill it up to about there in the glass. You want as minimal a head as possible, which the can being mostly flat will help you with.

"Then get yourself any kind of ultrasonic device. A jewellery cleaner works well, which is what this is. I know it has the surger logo, but I put that on there."

The man then added the pint to the machine.

He said: "So you put this in with some water, hit the button and check this out."

The video shows the pint of Guinness beginning to surge as the glass becomes cloudy, and the drink is seen separating.

He said: "Proper draft pint of Guinness, boys!

"Look at that. Look at that. So good.

"There we go. Look at that perfect draft looking pint of Guinness."

However, not all viewers agreed that the method would make the Guinness taste better.

One commented: "I’m a chemist and the machine he’s using is called a sonicator. We use it to degas solvents which is exactly what’s happening here. He says it’s a nitro beer so he’s essentially pulling all the nitrogen out with intense industrial methods. Essentially he’s making the beer as flat as physically possible."

A second said: "If you just pour the damn pint itll do this. Learn how to properly pour a Guinness and this is all unnecessary."

A third wrote: "Ruined the point of the Guinness nitro can."
