Irish man has ITV viewers in stitches dropping the F-bomb at Cheltenham before man puts on incredible bet

An Irish man has left ITV and Virgin Media viewers in stitches on St Patrick's Day - after he put on a monstrous €750 bet on one of the main races of the day.

The hilarity ensued moments before the Paddy Power Stayer's Hurdle, with plenty of Irish interest throughout the various connections.

One of the biggest connection was that of Flooring Porter, who won the race last year and is owned by an Irish syndicate made up of five lads from Galway.

Before the race, ITV managed to find one of the owners and a few fans.

One explained how he had put a massive £640 (€758) on Flooring Porter to win - it was the last of the money he had!

And at odds of 5/1, he was on for a huge win.

In the aftermath, one of his friends was asked what would happen if Flooring Porter won?

"There won't be a f**king cow milked tonight!"

Brian Gleeson of ITV immediately had to apologise for the language, but there were huge scenes of celebration after Danny Mullins rode Flooring Porter to victory for the second year running.

Back we went to Brian Gleeson, who had found the lucky Irish punter to cash in for a huge £3,840 win.

"I don't know what I'll spend it on. But we're definitely going to Galway tonight!" he proclaimed.

And fans were delighted with the sweary Irishman.

One tweeted: "ITV just showed a drunk Irish fella putting £640 on a horse at #CheltenhamFestival & it absolutely ROMPED IT! Limbs!

A second added: "Nothing to beat an Irish celebration in the winners enclosure on St Patricks Day

While a third wrote: "Loving the Irish fella on Cheltenham coverage who just dropped the F-bomb!"
