An Irish man is fighting for his life after being hit by an ambulance in Australia over the weekend.
Eoin Sweeney from Clonmany, Co Donegal, suffered "serious head injuries" when he was hit by an ambulance in Sydney early on Sunday morning.
The 28-year-old had been walking along Elizabeth Street in Surry Hills when the ambulance, on its way to an urgent call, struck him at an intersection.

He was treated at the scene for serious head injuries before being brought to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
Eoin remains in a critical, but stable, condition in hospital and has been placed in an induced coma.
His family in Ireland have rushed to be by his bedside and are currently on their way to Australia.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover his medical expenses and aftercare and has already raised over €60,000 with generous contributions pouring in from the Irish community in Australia.
The online fundraiser reads: "Our very well-known and loved friend Eoin Sweeney from Clonmany, Co. Donegal was in an accident on Saturday night and his family are currently on their way here to Sydney, Australia to be by his side for recovery.
"He is currently in an [induced coma] in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and we are hoping to raise funds to help with all medical expenses and aftercare. Thank you all in advance for all your help."
Police in Sydney have have launched an investigation and issued an appeal for witnesses.
A statement from NSW Police said: "About 12.15am (Sunday 9 October 2022), police were called to Elizabeth Street, following reports an ambulance was travelling south when it collided with a pedestrian near the intersection of Devonshire Street."
It continued: "Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Initial inquiries have led police to believe the NSW Ambulance crew was responding to an urgent call for assistance."
