A Belfast football club has paid tribute to former player and father of two Phillip Lynch following his untimely death.
Phillip Lynch was the brother of current St Oliver Plunkett player and coach Jody, who lifted an Irish League title with Cliftonville in 2013.
The brothers are nephews of former Manchester United, Norwich City and Northern Ireland winger Phillip Mulryne who joined the religious orders and is now a member of the Dominican Order, reports Belfast Live.
Phillip Lynch, son of Jody and Sharon, died suddenly on December 9. He was a brother to Jody and Alana and father to two kids - Alexandra and Kayleigh.
Former Irish League ace Jody Lynch tweeted: "My we Brother had sadly passed on the 9th, god bless you kid. Love u always we man your my angel now to protect us all I know u will."
A St Oliver Plunkett statement online read: "The committee, coaches, players and families from St Oliver Plunkett Football Club deeply regret the death of young Phillip Lynch, brother of our esteemed senior player and youth coach Jody.
"Our club extends it's deepest sympathies to the Lynch and Mulryne families during this time.
"Philly was a brilliant kid at heart, full of life and character despite those recent battles. His loss devastated those who loved and knew him best. St Oliver Plunkett pray for him. Rest in peace Philly."
