Ireland is set to bask in the summer sunshine this week as temperatures climb to 24C in places on Sunday.
The run-up to the weekend will remains mostly dry with a good deal of sunny spells and just a few isolated showers.
Met Eireann has predicted that Leinster and Munster will see the best of the conditions.
A forecaster said: “A fine of spell of weather ahead now with a great looking weekend and temperatures rising to mid twenties in the Southeast. A dull start tomorrow and some showers in Northwest but good then until a risk of some rain Tuesday but settling down again.”

Today, July 7
This morning will be mostly cloudy with some patchy drizzle in places. However, it will become brighter through the afternoon and evening, with some sunny spells developing.
Highest temperatures of 16 to 22 degrees, warmest towards the south and east. Northwesterly breezes, light to moderate in strength.
Tonight will be largely dry. There will be some clear spells early on, but cloud will gradually build towards morning with some patchy rain or drizzle in the north and northwest.
Nighttime temperatures will stay above average, ranging from 12 to 15 degrees. Light west to northwest breezes.
Friday, July 8
Dry in most areas with isolated outbreaks of rain, mainly confined to the north and northwest.
Largely cloudy in the morning but turning brighter for much of the south, east and midlands in the afternoon and evening.
Highest temperatures of 16 degrees in the northwest to 22 degrees in the southeast, with light northwesterly breezes.
Largely dry with some clear spells overnight. Generally overcast for the north and west with some patches of rain there.
Light west to northwest breezes. Mild with lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
Saturday, July 9
Largely dry with just well scattered showers in a mix of cloud and sunny periods.
Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees, warmest in the south and a little cooler in the far west and northwest with a light northwest breeze.
Sunday, July 10
Another mainly dry and warm day with just isolated showers and sunny spells.
Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, best values across Leinster and Munster with light westerly or variable breezes.
The early days of next week are looking to bring a lot of dry weather with temperatures in the low, possibly mid, 20s.
Somewhat cooler for the western and northwestern areas where it may be cloudier, with a chance of rain there on Tuesday.
