Met Eireann have revealed the parts of the country that are most at risk of heavy wind and rain over the next few days before we get a stunning twist in temperatures.
A status yellow weather warning was issued by the national forecaster on Tuesday night which will come into effect tomorrow, but not after a mixed bag of conditions on Wednesday.
Usually around this time of year, we'd see colder conditions with a bit of frost on the ground and a chill in the air.
So far, 2022 is proving very different as temperatures are set to remain in the teens until at least next weekend.
Before we reach that 'dome of warmth', we will have to toughen out through a windy and wet period.
It's bad news for those of you out west as well, as Met Eireann's forecast for Wednesday reads: "Sunny spells and scattered showers this morning, with showers becoming isolated through the middle of the day. It will become cloudier in the west during the afternoon with some patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing.
"Highest temperatur
es of 11 to 14C, while moderate southwesterly winds will freshen through the afternoon, becoming strong near western coasts."
Thursday sees the status yellow warning kick in for Galway and Mayo as the Atlantic coast gets battered by winds.
"Mild, humid and very windy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle becoming more persistent and at times heavy in the west during the afternoon," Met Eireann predict.
"Highest temperatures of 14 to 16C in strong to near gale and gusty southwesterly winds with gales at times along western coasts."
We head into the weekend with a grim prediction from the national forecaster, who say that the outlook is: "Very mild and blustery up until the weekend with outbreaks of rain, becoming persistent and occasionally heavy with an ongoing risk of localised flooding."
