Met Eireann has confirmed that the heatwave sweeping across Europe will impact Ireland this week but the sizzling hot weather will only reach select counties.
On Friday, temperatures will reach scorching highs of up to 26C in Leinster and Munster however, the "dry and sunny" weather will be confined to the east and south of the country.
