Ireland weather: High pressure system 'sending Jet Stream North' amid cold snap warning as snow arrives

Ireland is expected to experience a pleasant few weeks ahead as a high-pressure system building over Ireland will send the Jet Stream North, ruling out any incoming storms.

In a welcome bit of good news for the Irish weather, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather took to Twitter to say: “Still no named storm this season, and with high pressure setting up over us and sending Jet Stream North we won’t see one anytime soon”.

Some Spring sunshine will be a lovely change for most, however, before the arrival of calm conditions, some people living in the southwest, west, and north may have woken this morning to a sprinkling of snow.
