Iranians showed their support for Hezbollah and Lebanon by donating gold at a mosque in Tehran during a fundraiser event. The initiative, titled “Golden Empathy, Iranian women and mothers donate gold in support of Lebanon,” aimed to gather contributions from the community.
During the event, women were observed donating pieces of jewelry to a stand adorned with posters of the late Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, along with Iranian and Hezbollah flags. A box filled with numerous pieces of gold jewelry was also spotted at the mosque.
Iran has expressed its commitment to continuing its support for Hezbollah and Lebanon amidst recent challenges. The capital city of Tehran has been adorned with billboards and posters honoring Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last month. These displays symbolize Iran's unwavering backing of Hezbollah, especially in the aftermath of Nasrallah's death and amid increased Israeli military pressure on the group.
Furthermore, Iran is preparing for a potential Israeli retaliation following its ballistic missile attack on Israel on October 1. Tehran's political leadership has issued warnings of a “crushing response” in case Israel targets Iranian territories. In light of these developments, Iran has been actively engaging in diplomatic efforts with Middle Eastern countries to assess the situation and potentially mitigate Israel's response. If necessary, Iran seeks assistance in safeguarding its interests and ensuring its security.
