Donald Trump has promised to extend the ceasefire between the US and Iran, while blasting Tehran in a Truth Social tirade after it backed away from peace talks.

The US president announced Tuesday, hours before the truce due to end, that he had ordered the US military to continue to blockade Iranian ports until Tehran’s leaders and representatives came up with “a unified proposal”.
