Iran threatens ‘widespread’ attacks after tit-for-tat strikes

• Iran has warned of "even more severe and widespread attacks" if the US military continues its strikes, following the alleged downing of an American helicopter.
• Tehran's forces subsequently launched at least four ballistic missiles and several drones targeting US bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
• Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed its Aerospace Force hit an airbase in Jordan, causing damage to critical command centres and F-35 fighter jet hangars.
• Kuwaiti air defence systems intercepted hostile aerial targets, while Bahrain activated air raid sirens for the second time that morning.
• Donald Trump's military responded with retaliatory strikes against Iran's air defence infrastructure, after the US president accused Iran of shooting down the $40m Apache helicopter, from which two pilots were rescued uninjured.
