Iran Signals Openness to Mediation Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

In a post shared on social media platform X on Friday, Pezeshkian revealed that several countries have already begun efforts to mediate between the opposing sides. His remarks come at a time when regional instability has intensified and global leaders are increasingly calling for diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.

According to the Iranian President, Tehran remains committed to achieving long-term peace and stability in West Asia. However, he emphasized that Iran will firmly protect its national dignity and sovereignty if challenged.

“Some countries have initiated efforts for mediation,” Pezeshkian wrote in his statement. He clarified that Iran welcomes initiatives that aim to reduce tensions, but the focus of such mediation should be directed toward those responsible for sparking the confrontation in the first place.

Pezeshkian also stressed that Iran would not hesitate to defend its authority and the interests of its people. At the same time, he reiterated the country’s willingness to support diplomatic approaches that could lead to lasting peace in the region.

“The audience for mediation should be those who, by underestimating the Iranian people, ignited the fire of provocation,” he added, suggesting that responsibility for the conflict lies with external actors who have intensified hostilities.

The statement highlights Iran’s stance at a critical moment as international efforts continue to prevent the widening Middle East crisis from turning into a larger regional conflict.
