Iran said intelligence ministry forces arrested four cells tied to Israel’s Mossad spy agency on Thursday.
The intelligence ministry said in a statement that “relentless efforts” led to the arrest of all operatives, IRNA reported.
The statement said Israel took advantage of the riots in Iran over the past weeks and wanted to use the four cells to carry out "hybrid terrorist operations".
It added that the groups were arrested before they could carry out their assaults. The report did not reveal more details.
