Iran dismissed a plea from three European nations on Tuesday, urging the country to avoid any retaliatory actions that could heighten tensions in the region. The joint statement issued by French, German, and British leaders supported mediation efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to end the Israel-Hamas conflict. The European leaders emphasized the importance of releasing hostages held by Hamas and ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. They also called on Iran and its allies to exercise restraint following the killing of a Hamas political leader in Tehran in late July.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson criticized the European leaders' request, labeling it as lacking political logic and violating international law. Iran affirmed its commitment to defending its rights and asserted its autonomy in deciding how to respond to the incident in Tehran.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza result in deaths of civilians, including women and children.

Recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of at least 16 Palestinians, including women and children. One strike near Khan Younis claimed the lives of ten individuals, including children, prompting mass evacuations in the area. Another strike in Deir al-Balah led to the tragic deaths of a woman and her newborn twins, along with their grandmother. The casualties included orphaned children and families torn apart by the violence.

Israeli authorities maintain that they aim to minimize civilian casualties and attribute such incidents to Hamas militants operating within residential neighborhoods. The ongoing conflict has raised concerns about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the potential for further escalation in the region.
