Iran's embassy in India on Tuesday took a dig at the United Nations over its perceived failure to take decisive action in real-world conflicts, days after Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi accused the global body of showing “indifference” to alleged violations of the UN Charter by the US and Israel.

The Iranian embassy shared a meme featuring two panels—one showing Marvel character Doctor Strange and the other depicting Thakur, played by Sanjeev Kumar in the 1975 Bollywood classic "Sholay."

“UN according to school books,” read the caption on the first panel, which showed the multi-armed Dr Strange, a character known for his magical superpowers. The meme suggested that the UN is portrayed in textbooks as a powerful organisation capable of taking action on global issues.
