Liverpool's new era under Arne Slot began on Saturdat with a 2-0 victory over hardworking Ipswich Towen, with Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah scoring.
Jota slotted home from inside the area on the hour mark after a neat pass from Salah, before the Egyptian got in on the act himself minutes later.
That was after Ipswich had enjoyed much for the first half backed by a racous Portman Road crowd for their first game back in the Premier League after 22 years away.
Salah's goal was his ninth on the opening weekend of a Premier League season, breaking the record held jointly by Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer and Frank Lampard.
