LUCKNOW: Punjab Kings (PBKS) stunned Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on their home turf here as skipper Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran scored brilliant half-centuries to secure an emphatic eight-wicket win with 22 balls to spare for the team coached by Ricky Ponting.
The tone was set by the Punjab bowlers early on as they put up a superb show — led by left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh — to restrict Lucknow Super Giants to 171/7 at the Ekana stadium on Tuesday. It was a sub-par total on the track and though Punjab stuttered early in the chase, losing Priyansh Arya cheaply, Shreyas Iyer joined hands with Prabhsimran to ease the team’s nerves.
