AHMEDABAD: KKR's replacement opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz had to leave his hospitalised mother's bedside in Afghanistan in order to come to the rescue of his team in his first IPL appearance this season on Tuesday night.
With Phil Salt unavailable, the KKR management called Gurbaz ahead of the first qualifier to know about his availability. Gurbaz subsequently took the painful decision to leave his mother and join the team.
