IPL 2024: Overseas signings help Sunrisers Hyderabad shine

HYDERABAD: Late entrants Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have relied on overseas players to do the heavy lifting ever since their debut in 2013.

After watching SRH boss over Mumbai Indians with a record IPL total of 277-3 during their 31-run win on Wednesday, old timers recalled the services of Adam Gilchrist in the team’s earlier avatar as Deccan Chargers and the punishment he inflicted on Mumbai Indians during his 155-run opening partnership with VVS Laxman in 2008. DC won only two matches that year but clinched the title next year in South Africa, with the Australian leading from the front.
