iOS 17.3 update introduces Stolen Device Protection and AirPlay for hotels

iPhone iOS 17.3 update introduces Stolen Device Protection and AirPlay for hotel TVs.

Apple has just rolled out its latest iPhone update, iOS 17.3, and it's packed with exciting new features. This update is compatible with iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15. If you own any of these models, you can easily install the update by navigating to your device’s Settings app, selecting General, and then Software Update. Whether you prefer automatic updates or not, downloading and installing the software now is the recommended choice.

One of the standout features in iOS 17.3 is Stolen Device Protection. Losing your iPhone is bad enough, but if a thief manages to gain access to your passcode, it can lead to much bigger problems. With this new feature, a passcode alone won't be enough for unauthorized individuals to make crucial changes. Face ID or Touch ID will be required for actions such as turning off Lost Mode, erasing the device, and accessing passwords. Moreover, if someone tries to alter the passcode without being in a familiar location, there will be a one-hour security delay. Although determined thieves may still find ways around it, this feature significantly enhances the security of your iPhone if it ever gets stolen.

In line with Apple's Black Unity initiative, iOS 17.3 introduces the Unity Bloom Wallpaper for the lock screens of your iPhone and iPad. This visually appealing wallpaper features vibrant blooming flowers, adding a touch of beauty and diversity to your device.

For frequent travelers, the long-awaited AirPlay hotel support is now available. In select hotels, you can stream content directly to the television in your room, enhancing your entertainment experience while on the go.

Adding a social aspect to music, collaborative playlists are another exciting addition to iOS 17.3. You can now invite friends to join and contribute to your playlists. You can even react to tracks with emojis, making the playlist creation process more interactive and personalized.

Additionally, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users can benefit from optimized crash detection with this update. The improved crash detection ensures that your device performs at its best and minimizes disruptions caused by crashes.

Lastly, Apple Care and Warranty now provides an easy way to check the coverage of all your devices. You can conveniently access this information through the Settings app, making it simpler to keep track of your device protections.

All in all, iOS 17.3 is a significant update. From enhanced security with Stolen Device Protection, beautiful wallpapers with Unity Bloom, hotel entertainment with AirPlay support, collaborative playlists, optimized crash detection, to a user-friendly Apple Care and Warranty overview, Apple has truly delivered a comprehensive and feature-rich update.
