Former Melbourne Rebels backrower Tamati Ioane was the star of the penultimate weekend of the regular season in Japanese club rugby, scoring two tries as Urayasu D-Rocks broke a 12-match losing streak in an upset 27-24 win over Saitama Wild Knights.

The result, which was the second time this season that the side on the bottom had beaten League One's leaders, allowed incoming All Black coach Dave Rennie's Kobe Steelers to return to the top of the standings at Saitama's expense after they beat Mie Heat, 24-19.
