An investigation has been launched after the body of a 'mutilated' dog was found in Paisley.
The Boerboel-type dog was discovered in a shallow puddle of water at Glennifer Braes Country Park on Thursday morning.
Distressing images of the dog believed to be named Huncho, show him lying in a small pool at the park, reports the Daily Record.

It's been suggested that the body of the dog was in a partial state of decomposition, meaning it may have been there for some time.
A Scottish SPCA spokesperson said: "This has been reported to us and is now an ongoing investigation so we are unable to comment any further."
Police Scotland said they were made aware of the discovery on Thursday afternoon after it had been reported to the Scottish SPCA.
However, it is understood that it is not being treated as a police matter, with responsibility for the probe handed to the animal cruelty charity.
