An investigation has been launched after a man was knocked over by a HGV on the A1 in Newcastle.
Emergency crews attended the scene on the A1 Western Bypass Northbound following a report that a heavy goods vehicle had hit a pedestrian. Officers from Northumbria Police found a 37-year-old man at the scene.
The man was taken to the RVI in Newcastle as a precaution with minor injuries. No one else was injured as a result of the incident.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 10:09 this morning to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a truck on the A1 north near West Denton.
"We sent an emergency ambulance and took the male patient to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 10am today (Friday), police received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle on A1 Western Bypass Northbound at the exit for Stamfordham Road in Newcastle.
“Emergency services attended where a 37-year-old man was taken to the RVI in Newcastle as a precaution with minor injuries.
“The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and to assist officers with their enquiries."
