A 36-year-old man has sadly died after being found in a doorway on Gosforth High Street.
Police were alerted to an unresponsive man at around 12.30am on Sunday and an officer patrolling the area carried out CPR until paramedics arrived. However, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's is currently being treated as unexplained and a police investigation has been launched. Anyone with information is urged to contact Northumbria Police.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Shortly after 12.30am on Sunday, September 11 police were alerted to an unresponsive man in the doorway of a premises on Gosforth High Street. An officer patrolling the nearby area attended and carried out CPR until paramedics arrived and took over.
"However, despite the best efforts of all involved, the man, age 36, was sadly later pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation was launched and the man's death is currently being treated as unexplained.
