Western Australian authorities are investigating an underground mine blasting incident that injured two workers in the Goldfields, following two deaths in the industry.

Northern Star Resources said two charge crew operators were clearing a misfired charge when it unexpectedly fired and injured the pair on Saturday night.

"Both employees experienced facial lacerations from rock fragments and received medical treatment at Kalgoorlie Hospital before being discharged," a Northern Star spokesman said on Wednesday.

The gold miner said a company-wide safety review was underway, with safety stops across the business.

WorkSafe Chief Mines Inspector Christina Folley said inspectors had visited the mine near Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the incident was being investigated.

The incident comes after a miner was killed at Capricorn Metals' Karlawinda gold project in the state's Pilbara region on October 13, when the light vehicle he was travelling in was run over by a dump truck.

Another underground miner was killed at Gold Fields' Hamlet gold mine, near Kambalda on October 11.
