In fact, most romances across Thrones and now House of the Dragon are meant to be messed up. Rhaenyra and a guardsman creating bastards posing as trueborns. Viserys marrying his daughter’s best friend when she was little more than a child. Rhaenyra and Daemon getting together despite being uncle and niece. It’s all pretty gross.
However, in the latest episode, viewers witnessed what could be considered one of the most compelling and intimate romances in either series, one that did not rely on incest or explicit scenes to convey its significance. The relationship between Mysaria, the prisoner turned spymaster, and Rhaenyra herself, has been a highlight. Fans have long noted the chemistry between the two characters, and in the recent episode, that chemistry finally culminated in a kiss.
