International Yoga Day: Army's 'silent warriors'- dog units' perform asanas; steal show

JAMMU: As Yoga Day was observed across the country and plenty of photos and videos are being pouring from all corners about people doing yoga but the unique and adorable ones were that of the Indian Army’s dog unit performing 'yoga asanas' along with their handlers in Poonch.

The dog unit of the Army normally performs tasks like patrolling, guarding, tracking, avalanche rescue operations, explosives and mine detection but their sportyness and agility in doing yoga asanas too was remarkable.

Though sometimes they made a wrong foot but cutely managed to take the other step without missing the action as sen in the videos shared by the army spokesperson. Sharing some pictures and videos in this context, PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand in specific words said that Indian Army 'Silent Warriors' join Yoga Day celebrations in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir.

"On International Yoga Day 2022, these Silent Warriors remain operationally ready to respond to any contingency and are always relied upon by soldiers during sensitive missions," he said.

"These brave, reliable and indispensable force multipliers along with their handlers have thus earned a mark of respect and garnered a lot of appreciation in the Armed Forces," Col Anand said.

Col Anand said, "Indian Army's 'silent warriors' have also joined the bandwagon and performed yoga asanas on International Day of Yoga celebrations in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and were seen performing Yoga asanas in Sync along with their handlers."
