Not just one day but all days must belong to women. March 8th marks the International Women’s Day. The day began to be celebrated when 15,000 women marched through New York City calling for shorter hours, higher pay, and the opportunity to vote in 1908. A year later, the first National Woman's Day was proclaimed by the Socialist Party of America. Over the years, International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world.
Women’s Day is a reminder to celebrate the beautiful women in you life. But it is also a reminder that gender inequality still prevails in the patriarchal society we live in. It recognises women’s incredible achievements, raises awareness and encourages others to advocate for gender equality, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
