Naughty Dog has broken its long silence on one of PlayStation's most anticipated upcoming titles, "Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet" marking a genuine production milestone for a game that fans have heard very little about.

Naughty Dog confirmed on social media that principal performance capture on "Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet" has officially wrapped.
The post read, "'See you, space cowboy...' That is a wrap on the very ambitious Intergalactic cinematic shoot! This cast killed it! Cannot wait to show you their incredible work when the time is right!"
The announcement came paired with a photo of lead actress Tati Gabrielle in a motion capture suit, holding a prop gun on set, but nothing too specific about the game's story or gameplay.
This marks the first real development update Naughty Dog has shared on the game since early 2025, making it a notable break in what has otherwise been a fairly quiet stretch for one of Sony's biggest upcoming exclusives.
Wrapping performance capture does not mean the game itself is finished, since pickups and additional vocal work are still likely, but it does confirm all of the cutscene performances have now been completed.

'Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet' Reveal Coming?

Naughty Dog shared the update just hours after Sony confirmed its next State of Play showcase, leading many fans and outlets to speculate that "Intergalactic" could finally make an appearance during the event coming this September 3.
Given how long it has been since Naughty Dog last shared meaningful details, a showcase appearance would line up naturally with this kind of milestone news.
Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding a State of Play appearance, and Naughty Dog's own wording, promising to show off the cast's work "when the time is right," stops short of committing to any specific date.
Even so, the pairing of a major production milestone with a freshly announced showcase has been enough to fuel plenty of anticipation heading into the event.
No End in Sight Yet For 'Intergalactic' Development
"Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet" was formally revealed at The Game Awards in December 2024, marking Naughty Dog's first entirely new IP in over a decade. The game is directed by studio co-president Neil Druckmann alongside game directors Matthew Gallant and Kurt Margenau.
"Intergalactic" follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter played by Tati Gabrielle, who crash-lands on the distant planet Sempiria after roughly 600 years of no contact with the outside universe.
For comparison, "The Last of Us Part II" completed its own motion capture shoot back in April 2019, with the game releasing roughly 14 months later in June 2020.
If "Intergalactic" follows a similar post-capture production timeline, that comparison points toward a possible release sometime around late 2027, though that estimate remains speculative for now.
Naughty Dog has not confirmed an official release window, and with development having begun back in 2020, the studio has continued emphasizing that the title still has real work ahead before it is ready to launch.
