Romelu Lukaku has been dropped from Inter Milan’s starting line-up to face Porto in the Champions League tonight.
Lautarto Martinez returns to the XI having been rested for the weekend win over Udinese, in which Lukaku scored a penalty as he looked to beat Edin Dzeko to a starting berth for the last-16 first leg.
But Dzeko has been given the nod by Simone Inzaghi along with Hakhan Calhanoglu and Matteo Darmian in Inter’s midfield. Joaquin Correa is injured.
The last-16 first leg comes at a tricky time for Porto, who are suffering from a number of injuries but have nonetheless put together a ten-game winning streak having topped their group in the first half of the season.
Fabio Cardoso, Otavio, Evanilson, Gabriel Veron, Matias Uribe and Galeno all sat out training before Porto’s flight to Italy. Winger Fernando Andrade has not been registered for the Champions League.
However Sergio Conceicao has been able to welcome back some of those players and the visitors could line up in a 4-4-2 diamond or a 4-5-1 formation at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter Milan XI: Handanovic; Skriniar, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Mkhitaryan, Barella, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Martinez, Lukaku.
Porto XI: Costa; Joao Mario, Pepe, Marcano, Sanusi; Pepe, Otavio, Grujic, Uribe, Galeno; Taremi.
