Atletico Madrid have both Alvaro Morata and Gabriel Paulista available for today’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
Both players were absent from the 5-0 win over Las Palmas on the weekend, which also saw the welcome return of Jose Maria Gimenez from a spell on the sidelines.
Morata is in the squad following a knee injury whereas an abdominal issue had kept centre-back Gabriel out. Atletico boss Diego Simeone will now have to decide if they are fit to start in Milan.
Memphis Depay was rested from the line-up last time out and will compete with Morata to dislodge Angel Correa, who is fresh from a brace. Rodrigo De Paul and Axel Witsel are both expected to start.
Alternatively, Simeone could deploy Marcos Llorente in behind Antoine Griezmann to load up his midfield.
Thomas Lemar (Achilles tendon) and Cesar Azpilicueta (knee) are unavailable.
Inter are waiting to discover if Francesco Acerbi will be fit after he missed training on Monday.
Stefano Sensi and Juan Cuadrado are Simone Inzaghi’s other injury concerns with the Colombian already ruled out.
Stefan de Vrij is the prime candidate to replace Acerbi in the line-up if the Italian defender misses out, having recently suffered from a calf injury. Matteo Darmian is hoping to edge out Denzel Dumfries at wing-back despite the Dutchman’s goal against Salernitana on Friday night.
