Inter Milan are reportedly lining up a move for Feyenoord defender Marcos Senesi as a potential replacement for Alessandro Bastoni. The 23-year-old Nerazzurri centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Bastoni previously played under Spurs boss Antonio Conte at the San Siro and was an integral part of their Serie A title-winning team in the 2020/21 season. Conte has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad this summer and reportedly sees his former player as the ideal long-term partner for Cristian Romero.
Bastoni is a left-sided central defender and is well versed in playing a back three, and would seamlessly slot into Spurs’ three-man defence. According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, Inter are already planning for life without the Italy international by registering an interest in Senesi.

The Feyenoord defender is a very similar type of player to Bastoni and shares many attributes with the Inter star. Both players are left-footed, can play out from the back and boast impressive one-on-one defensive skills.
Inter’s reported interest in Senesi would certainly indicate that they’re preparing to sell Bastoni this summer. Longo also reported that Spurs remain in dialogue with the Italy defender’s agent, Tullio Tinti in the hopes of reaching a deal.
Bastoni is under contract at the San Siro until the summer of 2024, meaning Inter may opt to cash in on his services this summer. According to Calcio Mercato the Italian giants want around €60million (£51.5million) for his signature.
