Inter Miami chief Chris Henderson has spoken out on the recent rumors linking Lionel Messi with a potential move to the MLS.
The 35-year-old has entered into the final year of his contract with French champions PSG, with David Beckham's Miami currently favorites to land one of the all-time greats. Messi's former club Barcelona have also been linked with bringing the Argentina star back to the Nou Camp this summer.
Enjoying a fruitful campaign so far for PSG, Messi has found the net 12 times and registered 14 assists so far this term, doing so in just a whopping 18 games in all competitions. It was confirmed earlier this week that the Ligue 1 champions will face Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

But with questions arising over the forward's next steps, Miami's intentions seem as clear as can be, with former Manchester United player Beckham previously insisting how honoured he was that a player of Messi's calibre was being linked with a move to his franchise team.
Henderson has since spoken out on the links, saying: ''I knew Messi would come up! It’s great to be connected with amazing players. I don’t want to comment on someone who’s not on our roster.’'
With talks not expected to continue until after the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, the Barcelona great is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club as he enters the final six months of his deal in the French capital.
Miami this week extended Phil Neville's contract as head coach after the ex-United defender led the side to the MLS play-offs.
