The Texans made a huge move to put themselves into a position for back-to-back picks after trading up to the No. 3 overall pick with the Cardinals. With that pick they nabbed their new defensive centerpiece in Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr.
Anderson led a dominant campaign over his last three seasons with the Crimson Tide, wracking up a ridiculous 34.5 sacks during that time. He was the top pass rusher in all of college football during the last two years, and his talent will convert well to the NFL.
A speedy edge rusher who can bend with the best of them, Anderson’s production leaps off the tape. His variable pass rushing toolbox will allow him to compete with any tackle in the league, and he will quickly fit in with the new Demeco Ryans defense.
