On a cold, rainy afternoon in Pittsburgh, the Steelers did their best to hold serve with the Jacksonville Jaguars/ But in the end, sloppy play, a sloppy field and a pair of massive injuries added up to an ugly 20-10 loss. The loss drops the Steelers to 4-3 and muddies the waters for the second half of the season.
The Steelers offense was once again the story and for all the wrong reasons. It didn’t matter whether it was trying to run the football or pass it, very little the Steelers could do went right. And this was before Pittsburgh lost starting quarterback Kenny Pickett to a rib injury just before halftime. This brought Mitch Trubisky in but it was the same story.
Defensively, Pittsburgh held the Jaguars at bay as long as they could with no help from the offense. The secondary was already short-handed with cornerback Levi Wallace out and so when safety Minkah Fitzpatrick went out early in the game, Jacksonville took advantage.
Now the Steelers must rally and get ready to play on a short week when the Tennessee Titans come to town for Thursday Night Football.
