On Sunday, April 26, more than 50,000 runners will take to the streets of London for the TCS London Marathon — past the Cutty Sark, over Tower Bridge, through Canary Wharf and all the way to the finish line at The Mall.
The inspiring feat is usually followed by an overwhelming spike in applications for the next event (more than a million amateur runners applied for the 2026 Marathon, a 36 per cent increase compared to the year before). To meet demand, organisers are said to be in advanced talks of a two-day event in 2027, allowing 100,000 runners to take part across one weekend.
