They say the best things in life are free but some of the most exclusive clubs charge €70,000 for members to discover the delights and decadence inside its doors.
We've taken a look inside the wild world of swinging - from secret venues across Ireland to the world's most elite sex club.
SNCTM
Plenty of mystery surrounds the world's most elite sex club.
SNCTM is only available to rich, famous and highly-attractive members of society, Daily Star reports.
So us mere mortals may not get a chance first-hand to find out exactly what goes on at the kinky club.
There is a strict application process and guests have to pay up to €70,000 a year for a membership alone.
Guests then have to arrive to events cloaked in luxurious lingerie, smart suits and masks to hide their identities as they get down for an evening of sexual gratification.
One woman has revealed exactly what went on at the elite club.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, revealed: “My boyfriend and I were very interested in going to SNCTM after a friend from the community told us about it.
“While we love meeting new people, anonymity is important as we both have public-facing careers.
“We were told SNCTM was ‘a next level and high-end event with a super sexy, classy, and prestigious crowd’. Our friend was spot on.”
While the pair were very familiar with the sex club scene, SNCTM took them by complete surprise.
She continued: “While the application process was more stringent and required an online application followed by a phone call and interview, this also added to the allure of the community - a well-vetted group ensuring a well-curated crowd.
“Knowing SNCTM was going to use our interests to curate an experience for us made the effort well worth the time."
The couple passed the rigorous vetting process and were then able to book their first event.
They arrived at SNCTM dressed in formal black-tie attire with sexy underwear underneath, passing through security and being welcomed by erotic hosts.
“As time progresses, you start to notice that there was less and less clothing being worn and people become a lot more comfortable," she added.
“When we were ready, we decided to explore one of the thematic bedrooms with red roses and black deco.
“At the end of the night, we realised that we fulfilled fantasies we didn’t even know we had.”
The couple enjoyed their first night of passion at SNCTM and say they have returned many times since.
They added: “While initially we wanted to maintain anonymity, we quickly made friends with other members and guest list women who also valued the privacy and the exclusivity."
Killing Kittens
A friend of Kate Middleton owns a private members' sex club where members are invited to “play” together.
Killing Kittens, known as KK to members, is a London based online community that runs regular sex soiree's in 'secret' venues - including regular events in Ireland.
Emma Sayle, who is friends with the Duchess of Cambridge from their days at an all-girls boarding school in Berkshire called Dowe House, is the owner of the Killing Kittens.
She said that the coronavirus pandemic had been great for business as more and more people wanted to experiment with sex and she's received more than 40,000 membership requests from single women in the past year and a half.
Sayle, who started Killing Kittens in 2005, said: “We’re getting more and more messages from throuples”.
And she's added women are the one chasing the thrills and signing up to her services in big numbers.
The mum-of-three said that she has been on the hunt for bigger venues to have Killing Kittens parties in, since the beginning of lockdown, after a surge in members.
The parties, which the Killing Kittens website claims are all about female empowerment, take place at various sites in London and around the world which are kept secret to non-members and revealed closer to the dates.
On the night, mask-wearing members arrive at a chosen location and enjoy champagne and canape before activities begin heating up.
Les Dessous Chandelles
The Paris sex club Les Dessous des Chandelles is famous throughout the swinging fraternity.
Unlike a normal nightclub, the Parisian venue has been described as a “porno chic temple."
Owner Valerie Hervo revealed all about life inside her sex club in her book Les Dessous des Chandelles.
She said: “It’s a universe of pleasures. Sex is just the cherry on the cake. I get drunk just on the atmosphere.”
The exclusive club, which is near to the Louvre art gallery, caters to the elite.
Couples can expect to pay around £270 (€315) for entry into the club, which also covers dinner and Champagne.
But it’s the after-dinner fun that revellers really look forward to.
When sexual chemistry is at its peak, guests slip away into “horizontal salons."
These rooms have sensual lighting with dimly-lit alcoves, mattresses and an abundance of free condoms.
Group sex and partner swapping are commonplace at the club and one regular explained: “It’s not threesomes. It’s X-somes. Meaning as many as you want.”
And for those who are interested in BDSM, there’s a basement where guests can crack out toys and chains.
Club Skirt
Club Skirt is a sex club for adventurous women who want to explore their sexuality.
It is the UK's first women-only sex club for straight girls.
Skirt Club is the brainchild of Geneviève LeJeune, a marketing executive and sexually-adventurous woman who found London's existing swinging parties a big turn off when her and a long-term boyfriend decided to give them a whirl.
Geneviève, 34, told the Daily Mail: "I tried the current elite sex parties but my partner and I both found they were easily dominated by men, often drunk and lecherous.
"It appeared women were there primarily to please their partners. I wanted something different. Something more glamorous, and where women really were calling all the shots so I decided to try it with a small group of interested friends, and remove men from the equation entirely.
"Most of our members are married or have long-term partners, and Skirt Club is a place for them to have a wild night playing with other like-minded girls before going back to their grown-up lives."
Geneviève claims that the club's success is down to its commitment to exclusivity. The monthly sex soirees are held in high-end penthouse apartments in London's trendy Shoreditch neighbourhood, and, like all the best clubs, Skirt Club has strict membership criteria.
Liberty Elite
Liberty Elite boasts more than 12,000 members and has been called the go-to place for non-monogamous couples and randy singles wanting no strings sex with strangers.
Located near Rugby, near eastern Warwickshire, the club attracts up to 200 guests a night, using 250 towels and 60 bed sheets.
Liberty Elite is the brainchild of 78-year-old owner John, the UK's answer to the late Hugh Hefner.
He told the Mirror : "There are two main hobbies in my life. Making money and young ladies, which of course I'm very passionate about."
To help stand out in a crowded market, the club boasts 12 four-star hotel rooms which cost £60 (€70) a night, and contains equipment people don't have at home.
They get a wide range of ages at the club including pensioner Siobhan, who has been on the swinging scene for 10 years.
Siobhan has her own play room at home and invites up to eight men to join her at the same time.
She said: "When I first did this I couldn't believe a 20-year-old would want to have sex with a 60-something-old but they do and I'm happy to oblige."
Siobhan takes a big bag of toys with her and says the most sex sessions she's had in one day has been three or four.
Pleasures in Kent
'Pleasures in Kent' is a swingers club based at the home of Steve and Maggie Chapman in Larkfield.
Couples and singles come to the themed evenings, often in fancy dress, where they have the chance to have sex with multiple people.
But while Steve said his wife doesn't like to join in at their swinging nights he says she enjoys the social element of it.
Semi-retired Steve explained how the nights developed from a gathering with friends, to now hosting around 80 people in the quiet village and issuing a list of strict rules to their guests.
He told Kent Live : "It was originally just a group of friends, we used to get together with like-minded people and take it from there.
"It's something my wife is not into but she supports me in doing it. She is into the social side of it."
