First conversations with Jesse Marsch have been exciting for Weston McKennie as the Americans have discussed tactics, who he’s playing with and who he might replace. The head coach has even insisted the new boy will love it in West Yorkshire as much as he does.
Marsch is less than four weeks away from his first anniversary at Elland Road. It has not always been plain sailing for the 49-year-old, who has won 11 of his 36 matches in charge, but he has reassured McKennie he feels settled at the club and in the area.
It remains to be seen how soon McKennie makes his debut and who drops out of the side to make way for him, but he tells LeedsLive he is fit and ready to go from the gun against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Training will tell him what he needs to know.

“With him (Marsch), so far I've had conversations [about] the style he wants to play, where I would fit into the style, potentially who I could be playing alongside or who not or whatever, just stuff like that,” he told LeedsLive . “It's been exciting for me, the whole process, the conversations with him.
“He's told me he's settled in here. He likes it. He loves it. He's telling me I'm going to love it. I'm taking his word for it. Hopefully, we'll see in the training week where I’ll fit in and on the weekend as well.”
