Inside two bed 'fixer-upper' cottage on market for just £27,000 with one major catch

A two bed 'fixer-upper' cottage has gone the market for just £27,000 but there's a pretty major catch.

Based in West Lothian in a town called Blackridge, it is an hour's drive away from the Scottish capital.

An end terraced cottage with two bedrooms, the property has been made available with an astonishing guide price of just £27,000.

A listing for online estate agent Zoopla on behalf of sellers Future Auctions described the cottage is a "fabulous project for a builder or developer".

But the listing states it requires full renovation and is currently "not suitable for habitation".

But any investor with a little imagination would likely turn a profit considering the tiny asking price.

Property experts were keen to point out the home's potential despite its poor condition.

And they suggested its low price it could make for a very good investment when it goes under the hammer.

Instagram account CheapScottishHomes said: "This terraced cottage is going for online auction tomorrow with a guide price of 27k!

"The cottage does need work but for that price there would be room in pretty much any budget to get some work done."

The stone-built property includes a hallway, two public rooms, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a family bathroom. It also comes with a private rear garden, free on street parking.

As can be seen accompanying the listing, the interior of the cottage appears very rundown. However, you can envisage how attractive the property could look with some work done to it.

The listing states: "Traditional terraced cottage in the town of Blackridge, West Lothian. Property requires full internal renovation. Currently not suitable for habitation."
