The Wanted's final tour will be remembered for the bravery of Tom Parker, who appeared onstage nightly with his devoted bandmates in front of thousands of adoring fans - despite the ongoing agony of his cancer battle.
Fresh from rigorous treatment in Spain, Tom joined pals Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuinness to complete a string of dates - determined that the show must go on.
The band announced their Greatest Hits tour last September, a year after Tom was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour.
Ahead of the string of UK dates, Tom admitted he was 'petrified' to perform again in front of thousands of fans after therapy left him exhausted and unable to walk.
Then just before the tour was due to start, the father-of-two was offered the chance to fly to Spain for revolutionary cancer treatment at private hospital in the Costa Del Sol which he could not turn down.
The decision meant the rest of the band had to start the tour as a four piece before Tom was ready to return.
When Tom did make his comeback, his loyal bandmates and their crew went out of their way to make sure Tom was as comfortable and supported as possible.
From arranging a special throne for Tom to sit onstage when he could no longer walk, wearing matching sunglasses in solidarity and even sharing a bed with him as they hopped from hotels, Tom's friends were there for him throughout.
Bandmate Max George hailed Tom a 'hero' when he was ready to join them under the bright lights.
Fans were equally delighted to see Tom, with his appearance in the nightly shows gaining the biggest applauses of the night.
Throughout the remainder of the tour, the group flooded their Instagram pages with snaps and videos of them performing as a five piece as well as larking about backstage.
Tom was seen swigging from a bottle of Peroni in one snap and and also appeared dressed in shades and fur coat in another fun video.
As the tour drew to a close, Tom shared one final photo of the band on stage in which he described them as a 'dream team' in the caption.
The sentiment was quickly echoed by Max, Nathan, Siva and Jay who posted similar pictures with the same message.
At the final date of the tour in Liverpool, Tom's wife Kelsey and their children daughter and son, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one, were in the audience to cheer him on.
Heartbreakingly, less than a month later, Kelsey made the announcement to fans that her husband had tragically passed away.
Kelsey wrote on Instagram: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.
"Our hearts are broken.
"Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.
"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.
"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."
The Wanted were formed in 2009, and have sold more than two million singles in the UK.
The band split in 2014 but announced that they would reunite with a greatest hits album titled ‘Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits’ in September last year.
