Inside the stunning Bridgerton inspired UK holiday cottages that are talk of the ton

It's been a long time coming, but this Friday (March 25) Bridgerton returns to our screens with its hotly anticipated second season. With the promise of a host of new characters and storylines centred on scandal, secrets and forbidden love, devotees of the show are likely to fall back in love with the classic regency setting bought to life around Lady Whistledown and co.

And with so many historic holiday cottages the length and breadth of the UK from the period, if you have the urge then you can book your own Bridgerton-inspired break, whether you rent one big enough to host your own ball or something more bijou to enjoy with your closest friends or new beau.

Ahead of the new series we've taken a look at some of the options to help you embrace your inner Daphne or Anthony. Scroll down below to take a sneak peek at the accommodation on offer in the UK.

Moorlands in Foulridge, Lancashire

Nestled in the Lancashire countryside in the village of Foulridge, Moorlands has breath-taking countryside views but, if you're keen to feel part of your own regency romance then inside is where it's at. A grand staircase swoops down into the main hallway, ideal for making an entrance while a grand piano is the perfect place for young ladies keen to showcase their skills on the pianoforte.

If you're keen for something a bit more modern though, then the ten bedroom, nine bathroom property, which sleeps 27, has plenty to inspire - including high-speed wi-fi, a catering sized kitchen, one of the largest outdoor spa areas in the UK with hot tub, sauna and patio area. Seven nights costs from £5,788.

Snape Castle, The Undercroft, Snape, North Yorkshire

Snape Castle in Yorkshire is the former home of Henry VIII's last wife Catherine Parr (Sykes Cottages)

Not only does this have the wow factor worthy of a blockbuster, it is actually steeped in real life history - Snape Castle was once the home of Henry VIII's sixth wife, Catherine Parr. The castle, which costs from £868 for a week's stay, is surrounded by immaculately kept grounds and a lovely courtyard garden perfect to sit in enjoying a glass of champagne.

Sleeping four, the two bedroom two bathroom property also has some decidedly contemporary underfloor heating as well as a host of other modern touches. Tucked between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Park, if you do want to tear yourself away from Netflix there's plenty to explore, including walking and cycling trails, gastropubs and restaurants.

Freswick Castle, Freswick near John O'Groats

Freswick Castle, John O'Groats is the perfect spot for star gazing (Sykes Cottages)

If you want to stay somewhere with lots of hidden nooks and crannies perfect for intrigue and gossiping, then Freswick Castle is an ideal option. Built on the foundations of a 12th century Viking settlement, the castle is packed with traditional features and even boasts a hidden chapel.

With six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, an open fire and plenty of space for guests to mingle and socialise together, this idyllic home overlooks Freswick Bay and is the perfect base for exploring the local area. You can even go dolphin spotting nearby, although we're not sure Lady Whistledown would be keen. Sleeping 12, this atmospheric tower house costs from £1,976 for a week's stay.

We're pretty sure this is the only property on the list that has hand-painted wallpaper. This is the ultimate luxury, with Castle staff able to arrange a private chef if you wish to host a soiree for the occasion.
