A Nottingham salon that only opened last year is in the running to be crowned the best in the country. House of You, complete with simple but effective interior and a homely atmosphere, opened on Castle Boulevard last July.
Now, House of You is in the running to win best new salon at the Hair and Beauty Awards UK 2023. Owner, Danni Mott has spoken out about the salon’s success and what’s to come for in the future for her ‘talented’ team and herself.
Danni, 24 originally from Nottingham has big plans for the future and has shared all on why she thinks the salon - in such a short amount of time - has become so successful. She said: “Everything’s gone amazing so far, I couldn’t have asked for things to go better. I work with talented, all rounded, nice people.”

Danni works alongside nine other people. At the salon where you can get your nails, lashes, make-up, facials and more done, Danni has shared that a fine-line tattooist will soon be working in the shop too soon.
She continued and said: “We do loads here and we’ve had a couple of boys come in for their nails and we want more to come! We have a range of students and here, it’s easy access.
“Nottingham is a student city but even people who do live around here come in because we’re on their doorstep, they don’t have to go into town.
“I’m so driven, I never cancel, if it’s in my diary, I do it. Like with the tattoo idea, that all happened so quickly but it’s sorted and I’m now qualified to train other people as we’ve got the space to support them and their careers. We’re fully booked, everything is getting better and there’s no downfalls.”
Danni will find out if House of You wins the award in April. She was ‘shocked’ when she found out the salon was a finalist amongst many others in the UK.
Danni applied for the award in November 2022. She added: “When I applied [for the award] I had to write about why the salon deserves it and I’ve got the best team but when I found out we were finalists, I was shocked. All the girls were buzzing and we’re still new so it just showed the amount of effort the team has put in.”
After months of success, Danni added: “Already, we’re looking to expand, I work with 9 girls and it gets busy. Last year, we raised money and had a pyjama day at Christmas to buy presents for less fortunate children and we plan to do more charity work too.
“My team and I spend more time here than we do at home, we’re always putting in the extra hours and making sure that everything is clean. We have close relationships with our clients, they come in and share stuff with us and sometimes, we’ll be the first people to know, they become friends.”
House of You is open Tuesday until Saturday.
