Inside the mysterious 'strange little house' with no door near railway lines

A mysterious "strange little house", which looks like it's been "cut in half" has had it's secret past finally uncovered, after years of baffling locals.

The house which has been boarded-up for decades sits right next to railway tracks in the Midlands.

Now covered in graffiti and long-forgotten posters, the puzzling property with a "skinny structure" is located in Earlsdon, Coventry.

It can be revealed that the house which - was formerly a car showroom and then a carpet store, - was out-of-use because it was too close to the railway tracks to be safe, Coventry Live reports.

That is not all, eagle-eyed residents thought that the property on Albany Road, appeared to have no door.

But, upon closer inspection, the door is hidden behind graffiti.

Network Rail cleared the mystery up when CoventryLive approached them to find out more.

The house was actually bought by the network at the turn of the century.

Resident Mary Courtney wrote: "This strange little house with the steeply slanted roof looks like a Su Mo painting.

"It has never in my memory been occupied. I wonder what its story is."

A Network Rail spokesman explained: "The property on Albany Road was purchased by Network Rail’s predecessor Railtrack around the turn of the century due to its very close proximity to the railway.

"Like many disused lineside buildings, it remains on our property portfolio.

"There are no immediate plans for the plot at this time.”
