An urban explorer has spoken of the "mind-blowing" moment he discovered an abandoned home which appears to have been untouched for decades.
Kyle Urbex came across the creepy property in the Brimington area of Chesterfield, Derbyshire and inside found dozens of old comic books dating back to the 1960s decaying on the kitchen counter.
Family photographs and wedding snaps were eerily left out on the kitchen side, while toy cars thought to be around 50 years old were mysteriously left grouped together.
The photographer, 25, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, who has explored hundreds of abandoned properties since 2020, also found two passports sprawled across a table.
Kyle believes the home was at one stage occupied by a husband and wife.
He said: "So the house is situated in the Brimington area of Chesterfield and it's seriously overgrown so can hardly be seen from the main road.
"After a fight through the brambles and nettles to reach the back door which was wide open once inside I came to the room where the passports were sprawled across the table.
"On one of the passports the name Mr WHJ Benham sits on the front so I can assume the house was once occupied by a man and his wife."
The occupants of the abandoned home appear to have left in a hurry, with the home clearly not lived in for a number of years.
In the main bedroom an Elvis Presley clock was found hanging on the wall, while comic books dating back to March 1967 were found in the kitchen.
"Navigating round I found an old Elvis Presley clock hanging on the wall in the main bedroom but the main room of all was the kitchen where dozens of family photographs, wedding photographs and old comic books remain decaying on the counter," Kyle said.
"I did manage to capture the date of one of the comic books in my photographs which is dated March 4, 1967 and oddly enough in front of the comics were old toy cars that were roughly about the same age.
"I found this quite sad really because a wedding photograph especially is one of someone's most cherished possessions to remember their special day but it's now sitting in silence left behind for whatever reason the old couple left the property."
Pictures taken by Kyle show the cracked walls within the property, with dozens of items - including an extremely old TV - discarded on the floor in a number of the rooms.
In one bedroom three paintings have been laid out on the bed, while a picture of a man in an Army uniform, as well as a separate picture of a woman, can be seen balancing upright against a wall.
In the bathroom what looks like clothes have been thrown into the bath, although a towel and piece of soap can be seen near to the basin.
In one of the bedrooms an old doll is seen sitting on a chest of drawers, while pots of paint, vases and old tools lay neglected in another area of the home.
A dusty fireplace and old yellow telephone have seemingly not been touched for years, and a large world map stuck onto one of the walls is starting to peel away.
"The property is fairly modern so it must have only been vacated in the last 10 years but the content and memories left behind were just mind-blowing," Kyle said.
Kyle is drawn to abandoned 20th Century buildings, especially homes that appear to have been suddenly vacated, leaving plenty of mystery.
The clandestine photographer sometimes spots pictures on Facebook before heading over to do some exploring of his own.
