Peter Andre has decided to celebrate his 50th birthday with a lavish trip to Dubai with his family.
The Mysterious Girl singer turns the big 5-0 on Monday February 27. And, while some would opt for a big birthday celebration, Peter has opted to jet away with his loved ones.
Singer Peter, who recently defended Molly-Mae Hague's baby name choice, spoke to the Mirror in December about his hopes to jet off with his family to celebrate.
He explained: "I said to Emily, 'all I want to do is go somewhere in the sun with the family.
"'I don't care where we go. I don't want a big party, I don't want anything like that. I just want to get the kids and you and I want to go'."
The singer added: "I just want to go somewhere where it's hot and just get away just a few days just as the family – to me that's the best."
Peter also revealed how the best gift for him would be to go and see his parents in Australia, which he did at the beginning of the year.
"The best present actually is me going see Mum and Dad, which I'm going to do before my birthday, in Australia," he said. "That's the most important thing first."
Now, in his column with OK! magazine, Peter admitted he was "freaking out" over turning 50.
Peter, who recently opened up on hi wife Emily's decision to keep their children's identities private, wrote: "As you read this column, hopefully I’ll be in Dubai with the whole family. I guess it’s a bit of a birthday celebration.
"I mean, I’m not 50 until the end of the month so I’m getting in early – lol. I’ve decided I’m not doing a birthday party as I’d much rather celebrate it bit by bit throughout the year.
"I was always a bit freaked out about turning 50, but it’s coincided nicely with me celebrating 30 years in the industry.
"Focusing on the 30 and not the 50 sounds better! It sounds old but it really isn’t. I feel so young. I train, I love food, I love life."
Peter, who recently vowed to leave the country if Princess or Junior go on Love Island, has a busy year ahead of him as he is set to mark 30 years in the industry with a new album and tour. He is also set to make his acting debut in an upcoming movie.
He previously told the Mirror: "Career wise, is a very, very big year for me."
Peter collaborated with a number of artists for his new album, but one person who won't feature is his son Junior.
He previously explained: "For those of you who've asked if Junior will feature on the album, I'd say I want him to go on his own path. It's more important that he focuses on his own music and he has some big things coming this year, including releasing his next single and potentially his debut album."
