Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi are the best of friends and often leave fans in stitches over their hilarious yet sweet bromance moments.
The two musicians, who have been pals since 2017, treated fans to another wholesome moment yesterday on stage at the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.
The One Direction star took to the Dundee stage to perform his new hit single Heaven when the Scottish singing sensation decided to run on and join his pal for a hug. Fans went wild for Niall and Lewis' adorable interaction and many rushed to social media to gush over their iconic friendship.
Here, we take a closer look at the duo's close relationship and how their friendship blossomed over the years.
The beginning of their friendship
The beginning of the two stars' friendship dates back to 2017 before Lewis Capaldi achieved international stardom.
Niall first showed his love for Lewis on Twitter as he admitted he was a huge fan of his after his cousin introduced him to his music.
The Slow Hands singer told Glamour during a 2019 interview that he was actually the one that "slid into his DMs" and the pair met for the first time in 2018.
When Niall looked back on the time he first met Lewis, he said: "First time I met him, I just thought he was a lunatic. It was Saint Patrick's Day, we'd a few beers."
Their friendship blossomed from there as Niall continued to frequently publicly support the Scottish singer songwriter online and urged his fans to attend Lewis' concerts.
When Lewis achieved the fastest selling album of 2019 with Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, Niall took to Twitter to congratulate him on the big win as he wrote: "This absolute king has got the fastest selling album of the year!
"This is a great lad with an incredible amount of talent and I’m so happy for him."
Travelling Ireland together
Niall filmed a documentary for Guinness while he travelled around his home country Ireland and decided to bring Lewis on the journey with him.
The short film is called 'Niall Horan's Homecoming: The Road To Mullingar with Lewis Capaldi' as the singer and was released in October last year.
During it the two singers enjoyed plenty of laughs together as they took a trip to the Guinness factory in Dublin and visited Niall's hometown of Mullingar where they visited a local pub and treated fans to a rendition of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars.
Lewis released his own documentary early this year which widely focused on his mental health as the singer opened up about his Tourettes diagnosis.
Niall praised his pal for being so honest about his personal struggles as he told VirginRadio: "I just think it’s really important. Everyone sees him as this like as the funny man but you know, he’s got he’s got his issues, and he’s not afraid to talk about them."
Live performances
The two singers have now done a couple of performances together including a spontaneous busking session in the streets of Dublin.
The pair shocked fans when they decided to join a local busker called Jacob Koopman in the middle of the high street last year and belted out a couple of their own tracks alongside him.
The duo performed an enthusiastic version of Lewis Capaldi's hit single Before You Go while hysterically pointing at each other in the street as they acted out the emotional lyrics.
Capaldi also previously revealed at the Q Awards that he and Niall have been in the studio together and worked on some songs but admitted that "whether it comes out or not - and whether it's actually any good, because it was a while ago - is a different story".
Hilarious TikToks
Lewis is known for his comical and outspoken TikTok clips and the star recently left fans in hysterics after he took to the video streaming app to duet with Niall on his new song Heaven.
The 26-year-old pulled up a video from the 1D star's profile of him singing his new song while strumming the guitar as Niall encouraged fans to write their own second verse.
Lewis took up the challenge and sang his own very cheeky improvised verse which left viewers in stitches.
The Hold Me While You Wait singer also recently created a hilarious video montage of the pair with his break up song 'Wish You The Best' playing in the background.
The clip featured a slideshow of images and footage of Lewis and Niall laughing and smiling together with one video even showing Lewis planting a peck on Niall's lips while the Irish singer burst into laughter.
