Amy has told all on their special day and said: "It was the most perfect winter wedding, we had the best day of our lives."
How did you begin planning your wedding?
We began planning our wedding in 2021 and knew we wanted a two year wait until the big day. The first thing we booked was our fabulous photographer and videographer Ryan Ward as he is so in demand and we had to make sure we had him at our special day.
How did you decide on your venue?
Our venue, Manor House Hotel, was the one and only venue we actually viewed. We had looked at others online but when we arrived at the Manor House for the viewing, we completely fell in love. The staff are so welcoming, professional and made everything so easy for us [while] planning.
Tell us all about your wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses and suits!
I went shopping for my wedding dress on February 14th at White Gold Bridal in Broughshane. Dorothy, the owner, is the most down to earth, kindest woman. She asked what I had in mind and I knew exactly what I wanted. She brought me my first dress to try on and that was it, that was the one I fell in love with.
Philip got his suits from Balmoral Suit Hire for himself, the groomsmen and our dads. He wasn’t sure what he wanted at first, but the minute Philip put on the tuxedo, he loved it. [They] just looked so timeless and classic.
What was the best part in the build up to your day?
The build up to the day was all fun, we just made it an enjoyable experience and had the best time.
What was the best moment of your day and your other favourite parts?
Our favourite parts of the day would have to be walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time. It was such a special moment. Also, our little fur baby, Teddy, was brought down to us for an hour to get some pictures, and now we have those memories forever.
What would you tell other bride and grooms to plan first and what are your top tips?
Our advice to other couples planning a wedding is if you know what suppliers you want, make sure you get them ASAP as you don’t realise how far in advance suppliers book up. Also, just have fun and go with the flow, [it's] the best way to be.
What were the hardest parts to plan? Did you come across any difficulties?
The hardest part to plan is probably the table plan. You go back and forth a million times, but you get there in the end. Really, it doesn’t matter where people are sitting, as they are all there for the same reason - for you both!
Did you have a theme?
The theme of our wedding was a classic wedding, just all pink and cream flowers everywhere. It looked so beautiful.
Would you do anything different or wish there was anything you didn't worry about?
We would change absolutely nothing, we had the time of our lives and so did our guests. Wish we could do it all over again. Best day ever!
