Inside I'm A Celebrity's 'secret sex cave' for amorous stars looking for undercover romps

It turns out not everything is what it seems on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and ITV have designed the camp to accommodate all of the celebrities need.

The hit ITV1 reality show is well underway back in its original home down under, but viewers might be shocked to learn there’s more to the jungle than meets the eye.

Most of the set is shown on-screen with the Bush Telegraph, main camp and wash area, but there's a private area designed for ‘romantic’ activities in case the celebrities need it.

The so-called ‘sex cave’ doubled as Matt Hancock and Sean Walsh’s mole HQ when they were nominated to be the camp moles.

It is a secluded room next to the camp that can be locked for privacy and is barely ever seen on-screen for viewers, but is always on-hand for celebrities should a situation require a hidden room.

One of the ITV producers on the show, Olly Nash told The Mirror that the cave isn’t designed for comfort, with a basic bare floor and small space, but it can be used for celebrities to get intimate if they want to.

"Next door is a secret cave which will be hidden behind a locked door,” Nash said.

"It will be used a number of times throughout the series for our celebrities.

"Inside it is just a plain cave with a bench but we will be using it throughout the series for various events.

"The floors a bit hard - but it can be used for romance."

The dark, enclosed space has not been seen very much on screen and it seems that no one has used the space for ‘intimate’ activities.

However, it’s part of the revelation that not everything in camp is what it seems, instead it’s a set designed to cater to what the celebrities need on the show.

Former campmates have shed some light on the reality of the infamous jungle environment and admitted that the famous waterfall that doubles as their shower, is man-made.

It comes after ITV revealed that some of the jungle set is man-made such as the iconic waterfall shower (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

"The waterfall, like the pool beneath it, was not part of the jungle at all, but a man-made creation," Lauren Booth said after her time on the show.

Cherie Blair’s sister, who appeared on the show in 2006, said that the rainforest waterfall is actually “turned off between three and six every afternoon.”

Some of the jungle rocks are also made from “papier mache” and sit with the real boulders to add to the backdrop of the camp.

"Take the rocks around the edge of the encampment – they seemed to be hollow and made of papier mache,” Booth added.
