Inside Glasgow's most expensive Airbnb property during Eurovision 2023

It has been confirmed that the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the UK next year, as reported by the BBC.

Show organisers have said the event will not be held in the winning country of Ukraine, where it normally would have taken place, due to the ongoing war following Russia's invasion.

The reason for it being held here is because the UK held second place overall - and now cities across the country are hoping their location will be chosen to host the annual event.

However after it was announced this would be the case, hotel prices across the city centre of Glasgow began to increase sharply as it begins to prepare for the next stages of bidding for the contest next May.

So with this in mind, we wanted to take a look at other properties across the city to see what we could get for our money - and this is what we came across.

One bed penthouse in Glasgow Merchant City with balcony views

If you are after a central location, this is an ideal place to stay. The modern and stylish penthouse property is just a few minutes' walk to Glasgow Green as well as only a five-minute walk to the city centre itself.

The flat is located on the seventh floor and is next to the St Enoch Centre, many high-end shopping streets and of course, only walking distance to some of the best cafés and restaurants in and around the city.

The flat is located near the city's east end but if you want to take a trip into the west end, it's only a short 15-minute Subway trip.

The property consists of one bedroom and one bathroom and can sleep two guests. Not only does it have a spacious room, but it also has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area.

The penthouse, as its name suggests, is high up which helps to allow plenty of natural daylight in. And when the night draws in, the property has a lovely balcony overlooking the city.

According to its owners, "there is a large living and dining area with a standard TV, coffee table, and dining table which can easily be a work station/area. There's hardwood floors throughout and beautiful open windows that overlook Glasgow Merchant city."

The private balcony, which is the main selling point of the property, is only accessible to those who stay there, wraps around the full length of the flat.

Whilst exact dates have not yet been announced for the contest, it's looking likely that just like this year, it will take place around mid to late May time. Entering dates for two guests between May 11 and 18 2023, the property comes in at £190 per night. This compares to it's current rate of £140 per night for a weeks stay during August 2022.
