A major inquiry has been launched into the Channel Tunnel disruption which caused misery for tens of thousands of Eurostar passengers over the New Year period.

Rail minister Lord Hendy raised concerns that lessons from past disruption may not have been learnt to avoid the type of mayhem seen at the end of December.
